Kick-off for the NETZSCH Science Cup student competition

On 1 October 2024, the NETZSCH Science Cup 2024 kick-off ceremony took place on the premises of NETZSCH-Gerätebau GmbH. The theme of the pilot project is ‘Laboratory of the Future’.

The participating schools are:

  • Walter-Gropius-Gymnasium Selb
  • Luisenburg-Gymnasium Wunsiedel
  • Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium Marktredwitz
  • FOS Marktredwitz

This competition offers students the unique opportunity to design their vision of a modern laboratory and present it to a jury. Their task is to develop the laboratory of the future, regardless of whether it is a medical laboratory, a contract laboratory or an experimental laboratory. The laboratories at NETZSCH-Gerätebau in Selb serve as the basis.

The students are completely free to choose their own methods and tools. Whether drawings, handicrafts, physical models, 3D animations or written descriptions – everything is allowed!

At the end of the competition, the pupils present their project to a jury in a 20-minute presentation in German or English.

Of course, we don’t leave the students alone with this topic. We offer the following support services:

  • Kick-off meeting at NETZSCH with a tour of the laboratories
  • Handover of a starter kit
  • Project and time management workshop
  • Workshop ‘Creative Thinking’
  • Workshop ‘How do I pitch an idea?’
  • Offer: Visit to the in-house exhibition at NETZSCH on 13 or 14 May 2025
  • Regular consultation hours
